A proper good bye

Hello readers, welcome to my blog!
First of all, I would like to say that it's really ironic how my last post is about time management while I never make the time to write on this blog. Uni life is great, I adapted really well, joined clubs and participated in many things but this blog just banished from my mind. I even forgotten that I own a blog until one random day. Recently, I wanted to start documenting my days but I haven't got another platform other than my journal. I was thinking about recording memories or by having a private account in instagram for my photos and so on. And it clicked that I have a blog.

I remembered the day I started this blog on my senior year of high school. To be honest, this blog started as a school assignment. One of my friend even became a quite successful fashion blogger because of this, and I am very proud of her. But back then I didn't plan to write about fashion. I wanted to share unique and quirky things also how I feel about stuff. But after looking back, I realised that I have grown so much in the past three years. I was so different now, I still like the minimalism in the template but not the pinks and purple and the music I listen to is so different to the music in this blog. Before I wrote this post, I wanted to change this whole blog into a new one but I remembered that this exact blog with the template and layout is what I used to spent my days working on and be proud of. I don't want to delete a part of my life like I did to my tumblr (in my own defense, it is so girly #middleschoolyears) LOL. So I will let this blog as it is. But this is my good bye because I ain't gonna write here anymore unless I want to announce that I have a new blog.

Now, I am not sure yet whether I am ready to commit on another new blog but I just wanted to give this blog a proper good bye.

Time

Hey there long time no see!
Honestly I was very lazy to post anything at all but I remembered that I've promised to post more often ironically. Ok moving on

Why and where I've been?
So on mid June until early July, I was taking so many courses like learning brazilian embroidery (yes so girly of me haha), driving and so on. Then I went on a long trip with my family (I have no intension to brag btw) then I was very busy preparing for university, classes are going to start next week! GOSH! Sure I still got time for blogging but I was very very lazy because I spent most of my time in campus for orientation etc and almost don't have time for myself.

BUT on a training in my campus orientation, something made me realized that I need to change. Here's one quote I love on the training that goes "Got no time? Make time for it!". In university, you arrange your own classes but you can't study 24/7. You CAN NOT say that you don't have time, you have to MAKE time for activities that you want to do like clubs, hangout with friends, etc. You got to priorities better than high school because you are not a high school student anymore. You have to make time for friends and activities that you love so that you can be happier and more mature as a person.

That's all for today, I hope we all can manage our time better and be more mature every single day. See you next week!

My magical pouch

Well hello hello it's me again!
There is something you need to know about me, I am the kind of person who have a "magical" pouch full of important things for any types of accidents (I even have a mini sewing kit just in case). BUT BIG MISTAKE! Not so long ago I left it at home when I went ice skating. Mistake numero deux is that I didn't bring any socks so I ended up with three horrible blisters! Luckily I managed to buy bandages. I have been thought to learn from my past so therefore I'm sharing this experience to you guys.

Okay first of all, disclaimer: yes I'm kind of a paranoid person so I have these things in my pouch but it's better to have them than sorry right so your welcome. This is the list of what I have in my "magical" pouch:

 Bandages
First of all, you must have one or two bandages in your purse at all time. I usually have the ones with iodine in which is more practical because you don't need to bring a bottle of antiseptic solution. But if you don't have that in your drugstore, you can always buy some a small bottle of antiseptic solution and some regular bandages. You can also buy alcohol swab instead of iodine which is cheap to buy.

 Sewing kit or Safety pins
Like I've said before, I have a mini sewing kit in my pouch because I used to wear a uniform skirt which have brass hooks. Well you can always use a big and strong safety pins but I personally like to fix them by sewing right away than sewing them at home. Even if you don't wear uniforms it is very handy to have safety pins or a sewing kit. In my opinion, it's easy and cheap to buy both items but if you are that stingy, you can always  keep the free sewing kits from hotels.

 Nail clipper
I always have this in my bag because in my high school there are few rules about our nail and I don't really like them to long either. Nail clipper also have other functions such as trimming threads sticking out from your clothes. So for you guys who don't have a sewing kit (which usually include a super small scissors), you can cut an annoying thread with a nail clipper.

 Hand sanitizer
It is one of my crucial items that I never leave at home because I personally do not trust soaps from public places. And I'm sort of a clean freak so I sometimes feel the need to clean my hands in buses or on the streets.

 Hair ties and bobby pins
I personally like my hair up in a ponytail when I'm in school or at least pinned to my sides, so I always have hair ties with me. It is also important to have some extra hair ties in case you broke yours. You can also complete this hair essential with  a small hair brush if you want to.

 Lip Balm
Okay, many people may think that it's so girly to have lip products well guess what lip balm is actually an essential for any season because chapped lips are not pretty and unhealthy. Just like any parts of your body, you should also take care of your lips. Plus when I travel from a place with different humidity, my lips tends to chapped rapidly.

 Menstrual Pads
Girls have period with that being said it's better if you are fully prepared. In middle school, one of my friend even bring disposable panties and a plastic bag. I never had those in my pouch but I highly recommend it to you younger girls who are new to this.

 Plastic Bag
The last item on this list is a plastic bag. I don't really use it but I did use it to cover my bag when it is raining because  most of my school bags are not water resistant. It's handy to use to save your books or important documents you are carrying from water. But recently, I change this to a foldable waterproof bag which function the same and you can reduce plastic when you went shopping.

That are all of the items I have in my "magical" pouch! Have fun creating your own!

P.S.
If you are wondering why I repetitively said the word magical, it is because the fact that my pouch fits to all of my bags in other words it is small but contains many things. Oh another important item I carry when it's rainy or cloudy (not in my pouch tough) is a small umbrella.

Gummy Bear Skeleton

Hi! Today I'm going to show you my current obsession : Gummy Bear Skeleton! I have seen a lot of giant gummy bears but I never saw a gummy bear skeleton which is why I want it ASAP!

Do you recognize this sculptures?

So those are a few sculptures made by an artist called Jason Freeny. He likes to take a famous toy (like Lego, Nemo, Smurfs, etc) and sculpts the interior of the toy so we can see their bones and organs. His creations are quite expensive but he teamed up with a toy company, Framed Masters, and create affordable toys such as the gummy bear skeleton which I love. You can buy it online on Amazon for $47.99 or on Vat19 for $ 43.99

As you can see, it is actually an anatomical puzzle that you have to assemble. It comes with a set of bones and organs in a total of 41 pieces. They also provide a gummy bear shaped clear case to put them in. I think it is super cute and what I like the most is the fact that the top of the skull is removable and we can see the brain of the gummy bears.

Here are the videos about Jason Freeny and the gummy bear skeleton :

LILY

You probably know by now that I like to talk about new gadgets! Well today I'm going to talk about yet another gadget that I've been obsessing about. So I've been wanting a GoPro for the longest time ever but since I've seen Lily, I think I will go for that instead.

Lily or the "selfie drone" is a camera drone that will follow you automatically. To turn it on, you just simply trow it to the air and it will start following and filming you around. You will need a controller that you'll have to wear on your wrist which function as a tracking device bracelet so that it will follow you. It can take a picture or film you from several angles and you can choose the desired angle from your controller.

From what I've read, it is not in stores yet but it available next year. I like Lily Camera because it can film yourself so you don't really need another person and if you have a group picture you don't have to miss one person just because he/she is the one who's taking the picture. Furthermore, it is also waterproof and it has a cute face! hahaha.

But there are some downsides, it has no obstacle avoidance yet meaning it will hit a tree if there is one. So the first generation of Lily is perfect for filming sports such as surfing, snowboarding, soccer, etc. Oh also it is $499 which is expensive for me since I don't spend most of my time for sports I mentioned. In conclusion, just like any other gadgets, Lily is cool but unnecessary in my opinion.

Here's the promotional video of Lily :

Prom Dress Shopping

This post is a little different than my other posts because today I'm going to give you some tips for your prom dress shopping. I know the struggle and the fact that it is hard to find the perfect dress so I hope these tips can help you out!

 Mark your calendar
Don't do a last minute shopping because you will be super panic and might ended up picking the first dress you find 'okay'. So when you guys have the date of your prom, mark them on your calendar and set a reminder two weeks before the event. I think it is best if you already have your dress at least a week from any event (sweet sixteen, wedding, prom, etc) so you have to shop at least two weeks before the event. And for those of you who wants to buy them online please remember that there are so many risks including the shipping arrival so do it a month or two before the event.

 Research
Okay so this might help if you still have questions about the neckline and stuff before your shopping trip. There are loads of helpful information online such as the best dress for your body type or the best color for your skin tone. It's good to do your research but at the end of the day it is still your choice because you are the one who is going to wear it. So if something you read online for example the suitable color for your skin tone is blue but you are killing the red dress, just take it and don't afraid to break the rule!

  Find inspirations
When looking for a dress, I think it is better if you know what is exactly you want. It doesn't have to be that specific but you at least have to have an idea of your perfect dress whether it is the color or particular model / style. Sometimes it is good to look up some inspiration in tumblr or an online shop that sells prom dresses.

 Flexible
When shopping for a dress, you must be flexible of your options! It is okay to change your mind about your perfect dress along the way. If you like the model of a dress you're trying but it isn't what you planned to buy, it is okay to change your mind and buy it. This brings me to my next tip.

Try as many dress as you like
When shopping, sometimes there are some dresses that looks good in the mannequin but doesn't look good on you. Well guess what, if it doesn't look good in the display it might look good when you try them on. Some dresses may look dull at first glance but it might look fab on you when you wear them.

As I said before, you must be flexible with your options. Let's say that you are looking for a white dress but there's a dress in black with a design that you really love, well guess what you must try them on! Don't passed them just because it's black!

It is important to try every dress that you like because it will help you to compare the dresses. But if you try them on, you didn't regret your decision for your final dress because the one you pick is the dress that suits you the best because many dresses seems lovely but unfortunately unflattering for some of us.

Another tip is to try move around with the dress while you're trying them on. If it's uncomfortable, don't buy it! It's more important to enjoy the night without worrying about the dress or constantly shifting the dress because it's itchy, too revealing etc. My second tip when you're trying on a dress is to take a picture of you wearing that dress so it's easier to compare and make your final decision which means it is okay if you have to go back to the previous store you went.

Don't be shy to ask questions
You shouldn't be shy to ask questions! like the example above if you like the model of the dress but it was in black and you are really looking for a white one ask the shop keeper if they have it in white or not.

 Take your time
My tip number seven is to take your time while shopping. It is okay if you don't find the dress right away. I know that most of your mother won't agree on me with this one since some of them are impatient but you are the one who's going to wear them. So if you have a parent like this tell them before hand that it might take a long time so if they are mad and all you can say that you already warn them before hahaha. OR you can go with your friend instead, it's much more fun and at least you won't have the same dress with them in the day of prom.

Anyways taking your time is important because maybe you'll see a dress that you love at the end of your shopping trip. You don't want to buy an 'okay' dress right? And if you follow my first tip which is to shop way before the event, you still have time to go on another shopping trip and hey maybe you'll find the perfect dress at the second trip. BUT don't take too long! in my opinion three shopping trip is the maximum trip you should take. It might be a good thing to limit the amount of shopping trip you're going.

  Shopping buddy
Okay my last tip is to have somebody accompany you when you're shopping. I don't really think that somebody would actually shopping for a dress alone but my point is to take somebody like your sister, mom, or friends because tagging somebody who has the similar or good fashion sense with you is always nice because they might see nice dresses that you didn't spot or give their opinions about it. But again always remember that at the end of the day YOU are the one who will be wearing it (wow I said this too much).

Enjoy your prom!

Happy Pills

Hello! I'm sorry I haven't post anything lately due to my laziness and lack of interesting topics. Anyways, I spent most of my days on tumblr and I saw  an interesting image (well this is not the first time I've seen this picture FYI).

So this is a picture of the product of a confectionery shop called Happy Pills which is located in Barcelona! Like the PMS ice cream, they have a super cute and creative way of packaging their products. They basically put their logo on medical containers such as the first aid kit and pills container. I love the packaging because a lot the labels are so cute which provide the instruction of use and the doses and what it is for such as "It makes you prettier than your friends", "Against Monday", and many more.

I haven't been to the store before because it is only located in Barcelona and it is super far away BUT luckily they do have an online shop if you guys want to purchase anything and best of all, you can customize your own label. Like the packaging, the shop also have the clinic feel from the pictures I've seen in the internet hahaha.

I really want to go to the shop and buy the stickers because I think it's so cute. Well to be honest, it's actually easy to create by yourself because you just need a sticker paper, print the label, stick it on a plastic container, fill it with your favorite candies and boom you are done! But again copyright do exist so you must not do this for commercial use and it's easier to buy them in stores anyways.

In conclusion if you are lucky enough to go to Barcelona, I think it is great if you stop by and buy some of these lovely pills (click here to see their address) because I personally think that sweets are the best medicine for any occasion hehehe.

The bright sight

It is 100% normal to feel sad, unsatisfied or angry at something that doesn't goes as planned. I also have those feelings at least twice a week and people will probably say something like "Look on the bright sight!". Well I used to think that quote is nothing but words because most of the time there is no bright side.

I have been thinking and finally know that being sad or angry is a complete waste of time. Looking on the bright sight surely doesn't change your current situation but it will make you better in some ways. I used to miss the bright sight by expecting  something 180 degrees from the event that caused your sadness or anger but I learned that sometimes it is the simplest and little things that made us happy that day.

Not too long ago, I went to on a trip approximately 200 km away from my house and it took me four hours to get there even though I woke up at four in the morning. Traffic sucks but the bright side, on my case, is looking and enjoying the views that I usually passed with my high speed car. Even if it is only a tree or wild flowers, I enjoyed every single second of it. I was angry because it is taking forever and usually it's only one and a half journey. My car is basically going on a speed of 50 kmph but again I felt happy even if it is caused by the simplest thing.

So, I know that sometimes it is hard to look on the bright sight of every single bad situations (because most of the time it is not as simple as being stuck in traffic) you are having but you should always remember to look towards the light because shadows will always fall behind you J

I hope you have a great start of the week!

Toy Story

Hi everybody it's Mickey Mouse! LOL
First of all sorry for the lame intro hahaha I just have to type that because it is the first thing that popped in my head. Okay so today I wanted to talk about Toy Story. If you don't know because you are living in a desert or something, Toy Story is an animated Disney movies which I enjoyed watching when I was little.

So I know most of you probably love this movie but if you know me, you know that I think too much and I did think too much after watching this movie as a kid. I enjoy watching it until now but back then but a part of me is terrified after watching the scene where Woody (the cowboy doll) scares Sid (Andy's mean neighbor). The first time watching it, I was like "He is mean! he deserves that" but after watching it again as when I was eight or so, I am terrified.

Well around that age, I rarely play with my dolls and I have a bunch of them. I am so scared that all of that doll is going to attack me while I was sleeping. And they did (in my nightmares of course hahaha) which scared me even more! Plus I didn't remember who actually came up with this idea but me and my cousin ended up watching the scariest thing ever after watching toy story. Guess what? I watched the Chucky doll movie. It was on marathon and we watched it.

So from that day I kiss each of my dolls good night for months. Then I got lazy (typical Mich) and said "Good night every one" instead. And I got over it after a year or so after I watched Chucky. In conclusion, do not let your children watch Chucky under the age of twelve after watching Toy Story. Trust me. It ain't fun.

Crave

For all of my female readers out there, I present you the PMS ice cream that I know you need.

Honestly, I know that some girls who don't crave or be overly sensitive before having their period but it is super cute idea and cute packaging. I love the design and the name for each flavor (I want the strawberry one so bad). And zoom in the picture bellow to see the cute details of the jars.

This PMS ice cream is created by Parker Jones, a college student in Oklahoma. She is actually a design student who got a suggestion from her professor to make a ice cream package and from there the PMS ice cream was born!

So I'm sorry to say that these ice cream is not on stores ladies but don't frown because you'll never know if she will be teaming up with Haagen Dazs or Ben&Jerry's. I'm just curios will she make another ice cream package for the broken hearted? (just saying)
